Definition of Kinesiology:

“Kinesiology is a communication tool that enables a person to assess and upgrade their performance in all areas of their life. Kinesiology is the science of energy balancing and is grounded in the study of anatomy and physiology. Kinesiology uses muscles as monitors of stress and imbalance within the body. Kinesiology enables people to detect and correct various imbalances that may relate to stress, nutrition, emotions or out-dated belief systems.

In the 1960’s a Chiropractor, Dr. Goodheart, began combining the 5000 year old Chinese Acupuncture theory with a variety of western discoveries that involved touch reflexes and muscle testing. He discovered that there was a relationship not only between meridians and major organs but also between specific muscles and these meridians. He called his system Applied Kinesiology.

One of Dr. Goodheart’s earliest students, Dr. John Thie, realized the potential of this system and he wanted to make it accessible for lay people. He called it Touch For Health (TFH). Dr. Thie’s goal was to empower anyone interested in self care to be able to use these simple techniques to help themselves, their family and friends.

Health Kinesiology, Educational Kinesiology (Brain Gym), Energy Kinesiology and Clinical Kinesiology are just a few of the large number of different modalities that have been developed out of Touch For Health.
